What does a new patient appointment involve?
1. Welcome
When you first contact us or step inside our practice, you can be sure of a warm welcome! We greet you with a friendly smile and make sure you’re feeling at ease. If there’s anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable, please let us know. We’re here to help.
2. Consultation
We invite you into one of our state-of-the-art surgeries to begin your new patient appointment. We ask you a few questions about your general health, medical and dental history, and past dental treatment. During the friendly chat, we also ask if you have any concerns about your oral health or areas you wish to improve.
3. Examination
We take time to closely examine your teeth, getting a full picture of your dental and gum health. We use our advanced digital technology to take safe X-rays of your mouth, enabling us to view your jawbone and beneath your gum in detail.
4. Advice
We explain our findings to you, and can even show you exactly what we mean by using the digital images of your teeth. We also give you some personalised advice to help you keep your teeth and gums in excellent condition at home.
5. Ongoing treatment
If we find anything that needs immediate treatment, we discuss this with you and plan your next appointments, giving timescales and cost information. If no urgent treatment is required, we let you know when to book your next check-up with us.
